Raja Feather Kelly and the feath3r theory,
Another Fucking Warhol Production, or Who’s Afraid of Andy Warhol
161 people pledged $7,740 to support this project on Kickstarter.
What happens when you combine a Saturday Night Live skit, neon bodysuits, and dance theater? You get Raja Feather Kelly’s Another Fucking Warhol Production, or Who’s Afraid of Andy Warhol, staged at The Kitchen in June 2017. Kelly flipped the script by running a successful Kickstarter campaign in just one day, hosting a 20-hour live stream complete with live performances and a telethon. In just 24 hours, 161 backers answered the call to make the project a reality. The performance “restaged” footage from a fictional SNL episode, playing with our relationship to love, death, reality — and even Kanye West. Kelly says the work “reveal[s] how pop-culture is created; to literally realize our relationship to it… What is love and what is its purpose? What is real and what is not? How did we come to this?“
